He
moved to Edinburgh when he was 17 and began playing the double bass
in sessions at the Tron Ceilidh House with the many musicians
that make Edinburgh their home. Since then he has honed his skill on
both double bass and guitar abstracting from the various and diverse
influences the Edinburgh scene has to offer. In this time he has also
become well known for his singing.
Kris has performed and recorded with many of the household names of
today's folk scene including Cathie Ryan, John McCusker, Kate Rusby,
John Doyle, Tim O'Brien, Ian Carr, Claire McLaughlin and Kenny Kosek.
He has also toured America extensively with dance group Celtic Fusion.
Most recently he has recorded with trio Fine
Friday with whom he also sings and plays, and this their debut CD
'Gone Dancing' was released in March 2002.
