Simon Bradley

Simon Bradley is the fiddle player and sometimes composer.  He has played and recorded with a great number of people in his musical career including Iain MacLeod and Angus Grant (Shooglenifty), Charlie McKerron (Capercaille), and Jim Sutherland (The Lanterns & ex Easy Club).

Many musicians play his tunes both on stage (Eilidh Shaw, Anam, Swap & The Ghillies) and in sessions alike and several of his tunes appear in the well-known compendium of tunes 'The Nineties Collection'.  He is adept with a number of musical traditions including Irish (his father is from Buncrana, Co. Donegal), Scottish, and the music of Asturias, Northern Spain.

He also plays with the internationally renowned Asturian band Llan de Cubel who celebrated their 15th anniversary in Dec '99 with the release of a new album in Jan 2000. Indeed Simon's connection with Spain was highlighted in 2001 when his musicianship won him Concurso de Parejas (Spanish equivalent of the mod/feis), thus creating history as the 1st non-native Spaniard to win this most prestigious award.
